Bacon Pecan Cabbage is a colorful healthy side with both green and red cabbage sauteed with bacon. This low carb side has so much flavor.

Cabbage with Bacon and Pecans

Cabbage is one of my favorite low carb veggies. Especially cabbage cooked with bacon. It tastes truly fantastic.

This easy low carb side dish is hearty enough to eat as a main dish, but also goes great with chicken or pork. I love the combination of 2 kinds of cabbage in this dish, but you could use all one or the other. The bacon adds a wonderful saltiness and smokiness. A little garlic adds some more flavor and toasted pecans add a buttery crunch.

This keto-friendly side is a cinch to prepare and can be made in under 20 minutes.

My favorite thing about cabbage is how easily it picks up the flavor of other things. It totally soaks up all of the bacon and garlic flavor. Plus when it is sauteed, it develops a slight sweetness that I love.

Tips for Making Bacon Pecan Cabbage:

  • The cabbage will initially take up a ton of space so use the biggest pan you have.
  • If you have leftovers, try adding a fried egg and serving for breakfast.
  • Use all green cabbage or all red cabbage if you wish. It won’t be as colorful, but will still taste awesome.
