If you’re looking to make this Lemon Butter Broccoli even healthier, try subbing coconut oil for the butter.
To make Lemon Butter Broccoli, bring about an inch of water to a boil in a pot. Add a steamer basket and fill the basket with the broccoli florets. Cover and cook until crisp-tender, about 4 to 6 minutes depending on whether you like your broccoli crisp or more on the soft side.
Microwave the butter (I use salted butter) with a little garlic powder until the butter is melted. Stir in some fresh lemon juice, salt, and pepper and pour over the broccoli. Toss to coat.
As easy as that and in less than 15 minutes, you have a delicious Lemon Butter Broccoli side.

- 1 pound broccoli florets cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons melted butter can use coconut oil instead
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Steam broccoli until crisp-tender, about 4 to 6 minutes.

Place butter and garlic powder in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave 20 seconds to melt.

Stir in lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Pour over broccoli and toss to coat.

I steamed it in the bag first for 4.5 minutes then I made the sauce. After I poured the sauce on the broccoli, I cooked it for another minute.
