Cottage Cheese Banana Pudding- this healthy take on southern banana pudding is loaded with protein and it’s a breeze to make.

Quick and Easy

It only takes about 15 minutes to whip up this protein-filled dessert.

This recipe makes 2 servings but it can easily be doubled.

Make Ahead and Storage

You’ll want to refrigerate this banana pudding for at least 30 minutes before eating, preferably longer to give it a chance to get really cold and for the flavors to blend. Once made it will keep in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.

Cottage Cheese Is a Wonderful Ingredient To Use For Desserts

  1. It has a natural creaminess making it the perfect base for banana pudding instead of vanilla pudding.
  2. It’s low in sugar so you get to control how much sweetness is added to this dessert.
  3. It has a high protein content. I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for ways to add more protein to my diet and I love when a dessert can help achieve that goal.

Ingredients Needed

  1. Cottage Cheese– either large curd or small curd works fine.
  2. Bananas– you want to use very ripe bananas. They are what add a good deal of sweetness to the pudding.
  3. Maple Syrup– Just a little to sweeten it up. Honey can be used instead or brown sugar.
  4. Vanilla Extract– adds wonderful flavor.
  5. Cinnamon– sprinkled on top of the pudding for more flavor. The cinnamon is optional.
  6. Whipped Cream– Top with just a spoonful of whipped cream to give it a creamy finish.
  7. Vanilla Wafers– Usually they are layered into the vanilla pudding, but for this healthier version, I just add 2 cookies on top.
