These sausage balls are totally addicting. I find them much better tasting and easier to make than the classic sausage ball recipe made with Bisquick.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED:

  1. Air Fryer– I have both the Ninja Air Fryer and the Power XL Air Fryer and love them both.
  2. Parchment Paper Liners– these parchment paper liners are so handy to have. They make clean-up really easy and you don’t have to worry about the food sticking to your air fryer basket. Instead of using a liner, you can cut a piece of parchment paper to fit and punch holes in it.
  3. Pizza Cutter– to quickly cut the crescent dough into little squares.

AIR FRYER SAUSAGE CRESCENT CHEESE BALLS RECIPE TIPS:

Using “Hot” sausage (I use Jimmy Dean) gives these sausage balls a little heat. To make them spicier, add 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes.

Do NOT crowd the sausage balls in your air fryer basket.

Try using Honey Butter flavored Crescent roll dough  to add a touch of sweetness.

Air fryer cooking times vary and the cooking time should be used as an estimate.

Will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 4 days. Can be reheated in the air fryer or oven.

Ingredients needed for Sausage Crescent Cheese Balls

I prefer using a block of cheddar and shredding it instead of using preshredded cheddar cheese.

Sausage and cheddar cheese mixed in a large bowl.

Mix together the sausage and cheese.

Crescent roll dough cut into small squares.

I like to dust the crescent roll dough with flour before cutting it into little squares but this is optional. This helps keep all the little pieces from clumping together when you mix them into the sausage mixture.

Depending on the size of your air fryer, you should be able to air fry 8 to 12 at a time.
