They are very similar in taste and texture to sweet potato fries and are positively addicting. I love making carrot fries in the air fryer. It’s much easier and quicker to make any type of fries in the air fryer than in the oven. It only takes about 16 minutes to make these delicious fries.

How To Make Air Fryer Carrot Fries:

  • Peel the carrots.
  • Cut the carrots into thin strips about 2 to 3 inches long. I like to cut them fairly thin. They cook faster and get crispier.
  • Drizzle the carrots with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and garlic. Toss well and sprinkle with Parmesan and pepper and toss again.
  • Air fry at 360 degrees for 16 to 18 minutes.

How To Make Them in the Oven:

They won’t get as crispy, but these fries can be made in the oven. Roast them at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes, giving them a stir halfway through.

Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Carrot Fries Recipe Tips:

Don’t overcrowd the basket. Cook in batches if necessary. In order for the fries to get crisp, you really need to let the air circulate well around each fry.

Remember that every air fryer is different and cook times can vary a lot.

Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil so no sticking occurs. You will need to use a non-aerosolized spray (ie- not Pam). It’s best to buy a mister and fill it with oil.

Ingredients

  • 6 to 7 medium carrots, peeled
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • kosher salt
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 3 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut carrots into 3-inch pieces. Then cut each in half lengthwise so that they have a flat side. With the flat side facing down, cut each piece into 2 or 3 skinny pieces.

  2. Place carrots in a medium bowl. Drizzle with olive oil.

  3. Crush the garlic clove with the side of a knife. Sprinkle a little kosher salt on it. Press the side of the knife over the garlic until a paste is formed. Add garlic to the bowl with carrots and toss to mix it in.

  4. Sprinkle a little kosher salt over the carrots. Add the parmesan cheese and pepper and toss again.

  5. Air fry at 360 degrees for 16 to 18 minutes. You can toss them halfway through but it is not necessary.

Note: You may have to cook them in 2 batches. You don't want to crowd the air fryer basket.
