Ingredients

  • 6 chicken legs
  • 1 cup dill pickle juice
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • black pepper
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/3 cup hot sauce, I use Frank's RedHot
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • blue cheese dressing and celery sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. Place chicken, pickle juice, and sea salt in a large ziplock bag. Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours to overnight. If you have the chance, turn the bag a few times during the marination period.

  2. Once chicken has marinated, remove it from bag and blot dry with paper towels.

Season it with pepper. (Note: Both the marinade and the buffalo sauce are salty so you shouldn't need salt.)

  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees. Spray the basket with oil and add the chicken. Air fry for 20 minutes.

  4. Meanwhile, stir together the melted butter, hot sauce, lime juice and garlic powder in a medium bowl. Pour half of the sauce into a small bowl to serve with the chicken.

  5. Once chicken has air fried for 20 minutes, remove it from air fryer and place it in the medium bowl with the buffalo sauce. Toss to coat and return the chicken to the air fryer. Air fry for another 5 minutes at 400 degrees.

  6. Serve with set aside sauce, celery sticks, and blue cheese dressing.

Recipe Notes

  • The chicken should be cooked until it reaches 165 degrees internel temperature.
