Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon chopped
  • 1 medium head green cabbage cored and chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 2-4 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a large nonstick skillet until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate.

  2. Leave about 2 tablespoons of bacon grease in the pan. Add cabbage and 2 tablespoons of water and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 7 to 8 minutes.

  3. Return bacon to skillet and add vinegar. Cook and stir for about another 5 to 8 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Add more water if cabbage is not cooking down enough. The steam will help it cook.

  4. Season to taste with salt and pepper and add red pepper flakes.
