Air Fryer Bacon cooks up wonderfully crispy with a minimum amount of effort.
Until I tried cooking bacon in the Air Fryer, baking it in the oven was my favorite way to cook it. But cooking it in the Air Fryer has a few advantages. It cooks in less than half the time and it gets even crispier. As a bonus, there’s no mess at all. The grease effortlessly collects in the bottom reservoir of the Air Fryer for easy clean-up.
So easy for busy mornings. The only downside is you can only cook about 5 to 6 pieces of bacon at a time in the Air Fryer. You really don’t want to overcrowd the Air Fryer or the bacon will not get crispy. The bacon will reduce quite a bit so don’t worry if the uncooked bacon slices completely cover the Air Fryer basket. You just want to make sure they are all in a single layer.
Tips For Making Air Fryer Bacon:
- I haven’t had any problems with this, but some people experience smoking when cooking bacon in the Air Fryer. A good solution for this is to place a small amount of water in the lower pan.
- You can take a peak towards the end of the cooking time to see how the bacon is coming along. Cooking time for different brands of Air Fryers can vary substantially so be sure to use the cooking time as an estimate only. Cooking time will also vary some based on how well done you like your bacon.
- I use the Power XL Air Fryer, but I also hear good things about the Ninja Air Fryer.
Air Fryer Bacon is crispy, chewy perfection.
